Bow Wow has announced that he is retiring from the music industry.
The rapper, real name Shad Gregory Moss, admitted that he has achieved everything he wants with his recording career and now plans to focus on acting.
"This is my last album because for me, there's no more that needs to be done on the music side, I've done everything," Contactmusic quotes him as saying.
"And the scary thing is I'm 22 years old and I'm young. I'm still a baby, so it's kinda like on the music side, I've been doing it since five. That's 17 years of non-stop music, music, music. There's nothing more to accomplish that I haven't seen yet."
The star rose to fame with his debut Beware Of The Dog in 2000 and has since released six albums.
Bow Wow will appear alongside Forest Whitaker and Taraji P. Henson in basketball drama Hurricane Season, released later this year. [DIGITAL SPY]

Pop princess Britney Spears canceled her sold out concert because Brit claims she smelled marijuana pot smoke in the audience. As you can imagine Britney's fans weren't happy about her concert antics.
The show didn't go on in Vancouver Wednesday night after Britney Spears pulled the plug on her sold-out Circus concert 15 minutes and three songs into her performance – departing the stage and leaving the audience in the GM Place in the dark for more than half an hour. Boos ensued.
Cigarette smoke from the crowd was blamed, with a female voice announcing to the crowd, "The building is awfully smoky. It is uncomfortable for everyone on stage, including Ms. Spears. Please extinguish all cigarettes – this is a non-smoking building, and the show will resume when the smoke on the stage is cleared," the Vancouver Sun reports.
Until the agitated crowd settled down, GM Place was filled with piped-in intermission music played at hockey games – which, one concertgoer told PEOPLE, left the fans "really pissed off. The break in the concert ruined it for everyone. The vibe was gone."
When she did return, Spears, 27, delivered a well-received Bollywood take on "Me Against the Music," followed by "Everytime" – during which she asked the crowd "What's up, Vancouver?" before she again left the stage, some 90 seconds before the end of the song.
The concert concluded with Spears singing "Womanizer" and advising the still-restless crowd, "Vancouver, don't smoke weed." Her sign-off was also peppered with a couple of X-rated expletives and a warning to "drive safe."
After the show, a statement was posted on the singer's Web site: "We want to apologize to all the fans who attended our Vancouver show tonight for the brief pause in Britney's set. Crew members above the stage became ill due to a ventilation issue."
Spears kicked off her Circus tour of the North America and England in New Orleans on March 3. Her father and attorneys are exploring the possibility of expanding the tour, says AP. [PEOPLE]

Six-year-old Jasmina Anema is one of Rihanna's biggest fans. So when her idol walked into her hospital room at NYU Medical Center on April 2 to visit her, the tiny leukemia patient could hardly believe her eyes.
"She's really here!" Jasmina exclaimed when Rihanna came in, shoeless, to prevent the spread of germs, and hugged her. "You are such a beautiful little girl," the singer told Jasmina, who has a rare and aggressive form of leukemia.
High doses of chemotherapy often leave Jasmina tired, says Katharina Harf, executive vice president of DKMS Americas, the bone marrow donor registry that is helping Jasmina and others find a match. "But when Rihanna walked into the room, there was no sign of that at all," she says. "Jasmina loves Rihanna. And Rihanna fell in love with Jasmina."
Indeed, the two became fast friends, spending more than three hours talking, playing and indulging in a slumber party-like pillow fight. They even danced to Rihanna's biggest hits including "Umbrella" and "Please Don't Stop the Music." "Jasmina showed Rihanna all her special 'moves' and tried to teach her how to do them," says Harf.
Rihanna first learned about Jasmina's plight in early February, when she saw the moving video Jasmina's best friend, Isabelle Huurman, and her mother, Karen Detrick, made appealing for donors to save Jasmina. Wanting to help her however she could, Rihanna put a shout out for donors on Feb. 7 on PEOPLE.com to help Jasmina find a match, which drew more than 4,000 donors. And on April 2, Rihanna flew to New York City just to visit her one of her littlest fans.
The visit was supposed to last for about an hour. "But Rihanna stayed until 8 o'clock that night," says Harf. "She would have stayed longer if Jasmina didn't have to go to sleep."
The visit was a total pinch-me moment for Jasmina, who at one point pointed to the picture of Rihanna on her CD cover, and with big eyes, whispered, "‘Look! It's her! Really her!!'" says Harf.
Jasmina, who is a "total girly girl," according to her mother, Thea Anema, was thrilled when Rihanna presented her with a big bag of Cover Girl makeup. "Rihanna asked me if it was okay to put makeup on Jasmina," says Anema. "I said, 'Of course!' She's so thrilled with makeup and anything girly."
Rihanna painted the little girl's nails and gently brushed "Dance Party" eyeshadow on her tiny eyelids. They played catch together with Jasmina's stuffed dog, Jackie, which ended with a torrent of giggles and hugs. "Rihanna kept on saying, 'I love her personality! She is such a little diva!' " says Harf. When Rihanna learned that Jasmina speaks Dutch and also understands Mandarin, the superstar said she was amazed at how "intelligent" and "what an amazing little girl" she is. More details have emerged about the restraining order against Lindsay Lohan. The family of Lilo's ex-Samantha Ronson are taking extra measures to make sure Lindsay Lohan doesn't disrupt their lives. Lindsay confirmed her split with Sam after a weekend of bitter fighting which left her banned from Charlotte Ronson's party and locked out of her house. Lindsay took the relationship public when she posted tweets on Twitter accusing Samantha of cheating and doing drugs.Lindsay's father Michael Lohan never approved of Lindsay's relationship with Samantha Ronson. Michael says that he hopes that Lindsay is able to move on after the split and offers his support. Lohan denied a split last week, but her father said the couple has had a "toxic" on-again, off-again relationship for a while.[source]
Samantha Ronson's family is blaming Lindsay's erratic behavior on drugs. Lindsay recently lied to E! Online and said she doesn't use controlled substances. Hopefully Lindsay will be able to get her life straight after another stint in rehab.
Lohan urges people not to believe everything they read.
"I don't drink, I don't do drugs and I don't lie," she said. "I love to act and write and be creative, and I want to help people by playing characters that can send a positive message out to whomever may need it."
The 22-year-old did, however, acknowledge that while her record of being in the public eye hasn't always been a pristine one, she has changed—it's the "noise" surrounding her that has not.
"My past is my past and it's been a long one, but I'm growing more and learning more day by day. I'm not the same person and I don't make the same mistakes. [E!]
Lindsay Lohan is publicly showing restraint in her split from Samantha Ronson. And it may be because she has to.
Ronson's family is pursuing a restraining order against the "Mean Girls" star, according to several reports.
The DJ's mother, Ann Dexter-Jones, and twin sister, designer Charlotte Ronson, visited the Beverly Hills Police Department on Monday to look into filing the order against Lohan, a police officer confirmed to Us Weekly.
"She does these things to get attention," Charlotte told a clerk, per OK! magazine. "She was trying to get into my party this weekend. We had to tell security to keep her out. Then she booked a room at the Chateau Marmont. Her room was right below. ... She also followed our brother Mark around."
Lohan, who is reportedly devastated by the split, had to be restrained by five bodyguards while trying to get into Charlotte's bash this weekend, while Samantha DJed inside. The actress later took to her private Twitter account, accusing Samantha of cheating on her.
Dexter-Jones had more serious allegations.
"[Lindsay] was doing drugs," she said of the party incident. "And we could not sleep that night at the Chateau. She was complaining about the music and noise coming from upstairs. She was trying to get attention so that Sam could come down."
Added Ann: "She cuts herself too. She is a cutter!"
According to Charlotte, Lohan even broke into their hotel room. "She does these acts of public humiliation. It is all for attention ... She was also got physical with Mark."
Samantha's family was instructed to file a petition for a restraining order at the Santa Monica courthouse.
Lohan confirmed her split with Samantha to E!, telling the network, "We are taking a brief break so I can focus on myself." [NYDN]

Rapper/hip-hop mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs has alot of explaining to do after a controversial Ciroc casting call went viral. The Florida Courier is reporting that an agency hired to acquire ethnic models for the shoot posted an ad looking for "light-skinned African-American Beyonce-types" to respond to the ad. Of course the African-American community responded to the open call which excluded dark complexion African-American women from representing the high end vodka company.
Ad Age explains that Diddy and Ciroc are trying their best to do damage control on their images after the casting scandal which is definitely not a good look.
Diddy presented links to his myspace and twitter page to defend himself, however, some of the previous Ciroc ads appear to feature more lighter complexioned African-American and Latina women than darker complexioned women. We're waiting for the Diddy blog on this one. Remember how Diddy got defensive on Ellen about his role in orchestrating Rihanna & Chris Brown's reunion in Miami after her assault?

According to an article in The Florida Courier, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Ciroc vodka and a modeling agency are in full damage-control spin after a casting-call ad looking for "white, hispanic or light skinned African-American" women caused a bit of a firestorm on the web. Diddy, Ciroc and their agency, Blue Flame, claim they didn't commission the ad and had, instead, tapped black-owned talent agency Tysum Agency. Tysum, in turn, turned to Ethnicity Models.
For the record, Diddy pushed back pretty hard both on Twitter and MySpace. Ciroc also released a statement calling the ad offensive. Oddly enough, no one seems quite willing to outright blame anyone else in this instance.
At any rate, read the entire Courier piece. It's a good read. And it certainly brings up questions of where casting-call ads fit in the legal spectrum and questions about beauty and race even within companies presided over by members of the same race.

An Internet ad copied from an email, then uploaded to a Miami-based modeling web site, set off a legal and ethical firestorm on Tuesday, forcing hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy’’ Combs and his organization into full-scale damage control to prevent the Internet from taking down a prestige liquor brand.
The ad, which appeared on Miami-based Ethnicity Modeling’s ethnicitytalent.com web site, read as follows: “Ciroc Promotion. Ciroc promo is this Friday, March 27, 2009. Time: 3:00pm – 7:00pm and 12:00am – 3:00am Requirements: Race: White, hispanic or light skinned african american. Height: At least 5’6 or taller. Size 7 or smaller. This is a cash @ wrap job and the booking will be thru our partner. Please submit asap. Talent will only be contacted if the client is interested in booking you!!! Compensation: $35.00 per hour.”
The problem: The promotion solicitation was clearly illegal under various anti-discrimination laws, but it didn’t originate from either Ethnicity Modeling or from Diddy. Neither Diddy nor his in-house advertising agency Blue Flame, which is responsible for all of Ciroc’s advertising and marketing, authorized it.
Ciroc is an ultrapremium French vodka manufactured by Diageo, one of the world’s leading premium drink companies. Diageo also owns Smirnoff, Baileys, Tanqueray, Johnny Walker, J&B, Cuervo, and Captain Morgan, among other alcoholic beverage brands.
In 2007, Diageo entered into “a groundbreaking strategic alliance” with Combs to oversee and manage all branding and marketing initiatives for CÎROC Vodka,” according to Ciroc’s official web site.
What happened?
Dia Simms is general manager of Blue Flame. She says that a Miami-based talent company, the Tysom Agency, was given instruction to find “gorgeous girls” for a Circoc promotion in Miami. Tysom is Black-owned.
“The (Tysom) agency came up with its own criteria, and without our knowledge or consent, sent an e-mail to Ethnicity Modeling requesting White, Hispanic or light-skinned African-Americans,” Simms told the Florida Courier.
Ethnicity is a well-known and respected Miami-based modeling agency owned by LaShawnna Stanley. It specializes in supplying ethnic models to other agencies and media and for videos, films and events. (The Florida Courier uses Ethnicity models for its ‘Florida’s Finest’ page.)
Tysom and Ethnicity have developed a close working relationship over the years. Stanley’s agency cut and pasted the information in the e-mail from Tysom and posted it to the casting call page on the ethnicitytalent.com web site.
Atlanta-based Imperative Talent Management, a company that searches the Internet daily for modeling jobs, copied the Ethnicity listing and sent it out in an e-mail blast to its clients, including “Kiana,” a Black model in the Atlanta area.
Ad went viral
Kiana, a reader of celebrity blogger Sandra Rose’s web site, sandrarose.com, went to Rose’s site and castigated Combs and Ciroc.
“I became outraged and appalled as I saw that I had been excluded from the job because I am not a ‘light-skinned’ African-American woman,” Kiana wrote. “…Sean Combs and Kim Porter [Combs’ longtime girlfriend] are themselves what is considered ‘dark-skinned’ African-American people. What image does this promote? One of self loathing?… I am very disappointed in this company and in Puff Daddy. This is a sham and a disgrace. I will no longer support him, this company or any other of his business endeavors. I will forward this email to every African-American person that I know and convince them of the same.”
Rose then went ballistic on her blogsite. In an entry entitled, “Ciroc doesn’t like dark skinned African Americans,” she wrote, “This is not imagined, it is very real and it’s been going on within the industry for far too long! Please forward Kiana’s email (or this post) to all your friends to inform them that Ciroc doesn’t value them as customers due to the melanin in their skin!”
Eventually, the e-mail and links got into the inbox of lawyers like David Honig. [FL COURIER]

Es folgen fiktive Nachrichtenschnipsel aus den Jahren 2011, 2017, 2024, die den kontinuierlichen Kollaps der Sozialversicherungssysteme zeigen. Das wahre Ausmaß des Skandals entdeckt die Reporterin erst am Ende ihrer Recherche: In KZ-ähnlichen Altenheimen des Pro-Life-Konzerns irgendwo in Westafrika wird den deutschen Rentnern Schreckliches angetan - gedeckt von der deutschen Regierung.

In a lengthy interview broadcast Sunday on CBS' 60 Minutes, President Barack Obama talked about the ongoing financial crisis, the situation in Afghanistan and his frustrations. • The president said the most difficult decision he's had to make in his 2-month-old presidency was to send more troops to Afghanistan, which he decided before completion of a strategic review on the region.
• The financial system could still implode if a large bank fails, and "big problems" could result if the government does not try to lessen the risk, he said.
• He had not expected to see such a sharp economic decline, particularly in job losses, when he took office.
• Legislation that slaps a punitive 90 percent tax on bonuses to big earners at financial institutions already deeply in hock to taxpayers would be unconstitutional, and he will not "govern out of anger," he said.
• A comprehensive strategy in Afghanistan – including an exit plan – is key to America's "No. 1 mission" of preventing an attack on the U.S., its interests or its allies, he said.
• When asked about the most frustrating part of his job, Obama took a jab at President George W. Bush. "You are often confronted with bad choices that flow from less than optimal decisions made a year ago, two years ago, five years ago, when you weren't here," Obama said. AMY WINEHOUSE return to the UK got off to a shaky start after she got into a fight on her flight home from St Lucia yesterday (March 1). The singer allegedly lashed out at a fellow passenger after he gave her strange looks.
Upon her arrival, she was whisked away to be shown her new north London house, which has been chosen by mum Janis to try and keep her on the straight and narrow. However, Winehouse's neighbours weren't best pleased at their new resident though. "House prices have fallen enough without Amy Winehouse taking up residence," one said. [NME]
Singer Amy Winehouse turned a court appearance into a spring fashion show Tuesday as she pleaded innocent to assaulting a fan at a party last year.
The 25-year-old star known for battles with addiction and frequent run-ins with the law stepped out of a car wearing a low-cut floral mini-dress and her trademark beehive hairdo. Paparazzi flashed away at their first sighting of the diva since she returned from an extended break on the Caribbean island of St. Lucia.
Winehouse, who has been in and out of rehab, looked healthier than in recent appearances and appeared to be in good spirits. She covered her bosom in faux modesty as she entered the courtroom.
Once inside the City of Westminster Magistrates' Court, she confirmed her name and date of birth and pleaded not guilty to a charge of common assault.
Winehouse gave her name as Amy Jade Civil. Her husband of two years, Blake Fielder-Civil, has filed for divorce.
Her lawyer, Mark Haslam, apologized for what he called the singer's slightly late arrival in court, saying she had left her north London home more than two hours earlier but had been delayed.
Judge Timothy Workman ordered Winehouse to attend a new hearing at the same court on July 23. She was released on unconditional bail.

drug problems have been front page news in Britain, where she was
pictured puffing on what appeared to be a crack pipe last year. She was
fined for illegally possessing marijuana in Norway in 2007, and also
got a police warning in April of last year after scuffling with two men

It seems like the romance of Bristol Palin and her self proclaimed "redneck" baby daddy Levi Johnston is over. Their relationship was put into overdrive as a hot topic during Sarah Palin's political campaign for Vice President. The shotgun was loaded and the teenage couple's wedding engagement was announced. It looks like the pair stayed together long enough for their baby photo paycheck to clear.
Good Morning America went to rural Alaska and cornered a 19-year-old high school dropout in his truck to ask him about his relationship with the girl he knocked up. Journalism!
The dropout is Levi Johnston, who attended 2008's Republican National Convention as a celebrated guest-of-honor, feted for his ability to accidentally impregnate the teenage daughter of the party's Vice Presidential candidate and that daughter's happy willingness to have the child and, we were all promised, marry the boy, hopefully by November.
That didn't work out, thank god. Bristol Palin's life had probably been ruined enough for one year. The GOP lost, the Palins went back to Alaska, and Levi and Bristol broke up, because they really had nothing in common besides hot animal high school lust.
And Sarah Palin lied about them a couple more times, but other than that, no one cared anymore. Until Levi's sister Mercede started blogging about it on the MySpace, which led to tabloid coverage, which led to an AP interview, which led to ABC's camera crew tracking down Levi and staging this odd interview. Bristol Palin and fiancé Levi Johnston have broken up after she referred to his family as "white trash," the hockey-playing hunk's sister dished to Star magazine.
Mercede Johnston says the 18-year-old daughter of Alaska's Republican governor dumped her brother, Levi, an out-of-work high school drop out.
And she said Bristol Palin, who took her beau to the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., has made it tough for him to spend time with his 2-month-old son, Tripp.
"Levi tries to visit Tripp every single day, but Bristol makes it nearly impossible," Mercede Johnston told Star Magazine.
"She [Bristol] tells him he can't take the baby to our house because she doesn't want him around 'white trash'!" she said.
In December, Levi Johnston's mother, Sherry, was busted in an undercover drug sting and charged with six felonies involving the pain killer oxycontin.
Calls to the Johnstons and Palins were not returned Wednesday.
"Bristol won't even allow him to watch the baby for a few hours unless he's babysitting," said Mercede Johnston, whose brother was forced to quit his oil field apprenticeship in January after questions were raised about his qualifications.
The sister said Bristol Palin's demeaning attitude has been bolstered by Sarah Palin.
"I used to love Sarah," she said. "But I've lost lots of respect for her."
A source close to the couple confirmed the split to People Magazine, saying the relationship ended about two weeks ago.
"It kind of just happened," said the source. "I thought they would stick it out. But I think they can work together to raise Tripp." [NY DAILY NEWS]

Comedian Jackie Mason used what some say is a racial epithet in describing President Barack Obama during his act Thursday night, infuriating at least several people in the crowd.
During a performance at Feinstein's at Loews Regency in NYC, Mason referred to Obama as a "schwartza" -- some say it's equivalent to the "N" word -- others say it's just part of the Yiddish culture and a literal translation of the word "Black."
We're told one person walked out fuming, "He's more offensive to the Jews than Madoff tonight."
We spoke with Mason by phone a few minutes ago, and he was outraged at the criticism, saying, "I'm not going to defend myself. Chris Rock has told a lot more jokes about whites than I have against Blacks. What about the demeaning words Blacks say about Jews?"
Mason added, "If it's a racist society, the white people are the ones being persecuted because they have to defend themselves." Mason called people like Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson "professional racists."
Mason added, "I'm an old Jew. I was raised in a Jewish family where 'schwartza' was used. It's not a demeaning word and I'm not going to defend myself."
And there was this parting shot: "I'm more talented than Oprah Winfrey and look at how much she makes. I can't even make a living."
UPDATE: Rev. Al Sharpton just sent us this statement:
"At this stage in Jackie's life and career he should get our prayers more than our responses. It is sad that maybe he forgot he used the same term against Mayor David Dinkins when he was elected the first African-American Mayor of New York City and got in trouble for it. As for him attacking me, maybe he forgot that he has had me on his TV show and has taken me to dinner and commended me for forgiving a white male who tried to kill me by stabbing me while I was leading a non-violent march. Pandemonium erupted outside of an "America's Next Top Model" casting call at CW Studios in midtown Saturday when an overheating car triggered a stampede of catwalk-craving cuties. Screaming as they ran for their lives, hundreds of hotties in heels toppled over barricades along W. 55th St. after several people in the crowd started yelling, "There's a bomb!"
This is madness!
Chaos at 'America's Next Top Model' Audition in Manhattan.
Two days after a stampede derailed the New York auditions for America’s Next Top Model, theories continue to fly as to what caused the chaos.
A clutch of the reality TV show’s hopefuls claim the crush, which put two people in hospital, began after an overheated car drove past the queue of aspiring models. One contestant reportedly saw the vehicle and shouted, “there’s a bomb”, causing the thousands of applicants to panic and surge away from the car.
Other reports say the 10,000 women assembled outside a midtown Manhattan hotel trampled one another after someone yelled “fire”.
Accounts from some contestants suggest a fight broke out and that as chaos ensued two men leapt from a car and grabbed at the contestant’s purses adding to the panic.
Model Tyra Banks, who hosts the show, was unable to throw any light on Saturday’s mayhem, which left shoes and clothes strewn across the pavement outside the Park Central New York hotel.
Yesterday, she released a joint statement with executive producer Ken Moke, saying: “We are concerned by the events that occurred Saturday afternoon in the vicinity of the New York City casting call for the next cycle of 'America's Next Top Model.
"At this time, we still don't know all the details of what happened or what triggered the incident. We appreciate the efforts of the NYPD and will assist them in any way possible in this matter," the statement said.
Three people were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and inciting a
