According to According to sources close to the concert, Rihanna’s management contacted organizers to cancel the anticipated show last week, stating “it’s just not the right time for her”. However, upset fans say they wish Rihanna would reconsider returning to the stage.
But despite the setback, organizers in the region remain hopeful that they’ll be able to bring the Umbrella singer to the UAE in the future.

(hands up and wave, and wave, and wave, and wave.......)
Looking back, who would've thought that the front-woman of Destiny's Child would end up dating, let alone marrying one of hip-hop's most crucial lyricists? In the beginning of their courtship, many heads were definitely being scratched in confusion; over the course of their very public yet private relationship, not that much has changed. We are STILL scratching our heads, and it's a wonder that we even know that they know each other. On April 4, your royal king and queen of hip-hop & r&b celebrated their one year wedding anniversary! Congrats to Mr. & Mrs. Carter!

It looks like mogul & Rocawear co-founder,Damon Dash, who was Jay-Z's former business partner has now lost it all. The New York Daily News had reported that the multi-millionaire was broke. Dame's wife designer Rachel Roy filed for divorce. Damon was reportedly trying to breakup with Rachel before the birth of their second child. Watch an episode of A Fashion Show with Patrick McMullan: Rachel Roy. The celebrity photographer, Patrick McMullen stopped by Rachel Roy's presentation. Damon Dash seemed happy for his wife and proud of his family.
He's got no money, but he sure does have mo' problems.
Roc-A-Fella Records and Rocawear co-founder Damon Dash has been slapped with divorce papers by wife Rachel Roy, the Daily News has learned.
The stunning fashion designer piled onto Dash's already sizable stack of lawsuits when she filed for divorce from her husband of four years this month in Manhattan Supreme Court.
Ed Hayes, a lawyer for Roy, declined comment, and a Dash spokeswoman did not return calls or e-mails.
An electronic record of the case says the divorce is for "nonmonetary relief" and should be resolved by February.
Dash and Roy, who put her own name on a women's fashion line, got hitched in Mexico in January 2005. They met when Roy was working at Rocawear and have two daughters.
The breakup is the latest legal mess for the has-been hip-hop titan, whose empire - which he once pegged at "about $50 million" in a New York magazine profile - has crumbled under massive debt, bad business deals and one suit after another.
Dash, who in 2005 sold his stake in Rocawear to Jay-Z for $20 million, owes $2 million in state taxes, and a bank has started foreclosure proceedings on his two Tribeca condos.
A Manhattan judge even ordered the city to seize his luxury Chevrolet Tahoe SUV last year when he couldn't make the $714.99 monthly payment. He's also being sued by law firms and landlords for not paying his bills.
The fall has been a spectacular one for Dash, who sipped Champagne on a yacht in Jay-Z's video for "Big Pimpin'" - then emptied his bottle of bubbly onto bikini-clad beauties in a hot tub. [NYDN]

Rihanna and Chris Brown have definitely reconciled and were seen traveling back to LA together at the airport. Click here to see the TMZ photos. The pop duo are reportedly hiding out in LA at the Beverly Wilshire hotel.
According to OK! magazine, the couple decided to stay away from their Los Angeles homes -- which no doubt have hordes of paparazzi camping out -- and shack up at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel.
The controversial couple returned from Miami on a private jet. They are reportedly trying to patch things up after a February 8 altercation that left Rihanna bloodied and bruised after Brown allegedly beat her.
The twosome may not receive the kind of support they're hoping for. While Rihanna's dad publicly stated he's behind his daughter in whatever decision she makes, new reports suggest the "Umbrella" singer's family isn't ready to forgive and forget. "Everyone wants them to take a break, to cool off," a Rihanna relative revealed to People magazine. "No one wants them back together. I'm concerned -- I don't want her to make a mistake, and I don't want her to ever go through this again."
Immediately following the battering, a reconciliation between Chris and Rihanna didn't seem likely. Brown went into hiding, while Rihanna recuperated in Mexico -- after reportedly helping the LAPD build a case against her allegedly abusive beau.
Will Brown be charged -- and will Rihanna defend him in court? Chris faces a judge in L.A. on Wednesday. source
Hollywood is rallying around Rihanna who is a victim of domestic abuse after she was bruised and bloodied by Chris Brown's attack.
From Rihanna's mentor Jay-Z to actress Hilary Duff, Tinseltown is coming to the defense of pop star Rihanna, after it was reported she was taking back her allegedly abusive beau, Chris Brown.
According to Us Weekly, Jay-Z and his Beyoncé have reached out to the young "Umbrella" singer, who is Jay's protégé. The hip-hop king is also reportedly trying to set up a meeting between Rihanna and abuse survivor Tina Turner.
In Las Vegas, Hilary Duff sent Rihanna a message via "Extra" at the Power of Love Gala. "I wish her all the best," says Duff, "and want to let girls out there know that it's never okay to be treated like that."
Veteran actor Victor Rivers -- author of "A Private Family Matter" -- told "Extra" he suffered abuse at the hands of his father, and he believes the R&B couple needs to get help. "Chris and Rihanna need professional help. I know because I've been through it... unless there's some type of accountability, it will continue to happen."
Rihanna took Brown back, but will it help his tarnished reputation? Nationally syndicated radio host Big Boy revealed that he's not sure Chris can repair his image. "When you see something like this -- I don't know where he can go from here." source
Rihanna's father Ronald Fenty says he supports his daughter's decision but there has not been much attention paid to his troubled past with substance abuse and financial troubles. Rihanna's father has admitted he is a recovering crack addict who was ashamed when his daughter discovered he was a crackhead. In 2007 the National Enquirer uncovered photos showing Rihanna's dad selling his clothes out of the trunk of his car to make a living.
These exclusive Enquirer photos show the entertainer’s down-and-out dad trying to eke out a living. Rihanna, 19, a former beauty pageant winner in Barbados, has said in interviews that she witnessed her father, Ronald Fenty, struggle with a crack cocaine addiction while she was growing up.
While Ronald reportedly has beaten his drug problem, he’s still clearly struggling with poverty. “Ronald is trying to make ends meet by selling clothes and perfumes and lotions out of his car,” said a friend of his in Barbados.
“It’s kind of sad that his daughter is raking in millions as a world famous singer while her dad is still hustling to make a buck.” source
Here is the story from the Mirror UK about the time Rihanna caught her father with a crack pipe.
Superstar Rihanna's dad told last night of his shame after she caught him smoking crack cocaine when she was just nine years old.
Ronald Fenty revealed how the singer - who hopes to win best international female artist at Wednesday's glitzy Brits awards do in London - watched him indulge his lethal habit as she peered through a gap in the kitchen door.
Ronald revealed: "I turned and looked Rihanna in the eye and instantly came back down from the high I was on. I saw her run for her mother, ask her something and then they both started to cry. I had no idea she had been watching.
"It was the lowest point - life just stopped and I realised what a fool I had been."
The moment tore apart Ronald and Rihanna's lives. He was thrown out of the family home in Barbados and stopped from seeing his daughter. But Ronald, 54, managed to kick the drugs and now plays a full part in her life - even joining the 19-year-old sensation on tour. He has also done his best to warn her off drugs - though he's sure she wouldn't touch them anyway.
"I spent 25 years doing drugs so I know the devastation they cause," he said. "Last year I sat her down and said, 'Rihanna don't make the mistakes I did. Don't do drugs'. source
Rihanna and Chris Brown have bid adios to Miami Beach.
After spending the past few days holed up in the city, the controversially reunited duo was spotted together at Miami International Airport late Sunday night.
The couple, doing their best to cover up their faces, were joined by several friends at the airport, and Brown arrived in the L.A. area this morning. Rihanna is believed to have accompanied him, with sources telling E! News the twosome has checked in to a Beverly Hills hotel.
Brown is tentatively scheduled to be arraigned in Los Angeles on Thursday for their Grammys eve confrontation, but the district attorney says that date may be postponed if detectives don't turn over the case soon enough. As of this morning, prosecutors tell E! News they have yet to see the evidence.
Since that incident occurred on Feb. 8, Rihanna spent solo time in Los Angeles, Mexico and her native Barbados, while Brown traveled to Las Vegas and his Virginia hometown before jetting to Miami.
Word broke late Friday that the couple was spending one-on-one time at Sean "Diddy" Combs' Star Island mansion.
Over the weekend, the "Disturbia" singer remained out of sight, while Brown, for the first time since his Feb. 8 arrest, appeared to be less than camera shy, jet skiing in the waters around Diddy's compound. He had also been logging late-night sessions at Miami's Hit Factory studios, working on his new album, in the days leading up to their reunion.
E! News has also learned that Brown's mother, Joyce Hawkins, was among those in Miami supporting her son. Brown has discussed in interviews childhood memories of domestic abuse his mother endured at the hands of a man she was involved with.
Reps for both Rihanna and Chris Brown have so far refused to comment on the seeming reconciliation, though Rihanna's father made clear over the weekend that he was behind his daughter, whatever direction her personal life may take. source

Chris Brown has spoken about the Rihanna fight incident and said he is saddened and seeking spiritual help and support from his mother. Chris is reportedly sorry and overwhelmed by what transpired. If the assault allegations are true against Rihanna then Chris needs to seek more help and anger management. Rihanna is rumored to have dumped Chris Breezy after he gave he a black eye beat down. Poor Riri...
The faithful Umbrella singer initially wanted to stand by the disgraced R&B star after he allegedly attacked her before the Grammys in LA last Sunday.
The chart-topper went into hiding after suffering a bloody nose, swollen lip and facial bruising, as Chris was arrested.
But the Barbados-born star has now decided to listen to good advice from her family and close friends (oh, and me too), who all begged her: “Dump him NOW!”
My source explained: “Rihanna really did think that Chris was the love of her life. But when everyone started to question their relationship, she burst into tears and reluctantly agreed that they were right. She just can’t believe it’s ended this way.”
And last night Chris’s dad Clinton, 44, spoke out for the first time since his son was arrested.
He claimed Chris is wracked with guilt over the alleged beating: “Chris is reflecting on this situation,” Clinton said. “He’s very remorseful. We all have our shortcomings. We all trip.”
But after hearing that Rih, 20, won’t be taking him back, I hear cruel Chris, 19, has started a whispering campaign to discredit his ex-girlfriend.
“Chris and his camp won’t take this lying down,” an LA music source informed me. “He’s told friends that Rihanna’s true colours will soon come out.”
Sounds like the pathetic actions of a desperate man, Chris. Just leave her alone. source

The internet is buzzing with a video of Beyonce's husband, Jay-Z, pulling an Ike Turner while repeatedly smacking a chick backstage. Jay-Z was reportedly so upset about the news that Chris Brown allegedly hit Rihanna that he got into thug mode and threatened Chris Brown by calling him a "walking dead man".Jay-Z hits the woman at the 8:01 mark. "This is a real situation," Jay-Z tells Hollyscoop.com. "You have to have compassion for others. Just imagine it being your sister or mom and then think about how we should talk about that." The rapper didn't comment on the allegations against Brown, but rather voiced his support for the "Disturbia" singer. "I just think we should all support her. She's going through a tough time. You have to realize she's a young girl, as well. She's very young." SOURCE

ShowBiz Minute: Brown, Grammys, BAFTAs
Check out the LA Times Grammy Awards live blog.
A tearful Jennifer Hudson won her first Grammy, thanking her family "in heaven and those who are with me today" to kick off an evening already stoked with drama when police said they were investigating double nominee Chris Brown for an alleged assault on an unidentified woman.
Brown and longtime girlfriend Rihanna, each nominated and slated to perform, separately dropped out of the Grammys at the last minute and their whereabouts were not immediately known Sunday night. The victim of Brown's alleged assault wasn't identified, and it wasn't immediately clear whether Rihanna's absence was related to Brown's.
Hudson, 27, made no direct reference to the killings of her mother, brother and nephew that kept her in seclusion until just this month. But while fighting back tears, she made it clear that her family was foremost on her mind.
"I first would like to thank God who has brought me through," said Hudson, also an Oscar winner, as she accepted her award from Whitney Houston.
Hudson later performed "You Pulled Me Through," a dramatic song about overcoming deep despair, with the lyrics: "When I was drowning, when I was so confused, you, you pulled me through." As she sang the last note, she looked directly into the camera and dissolved into tears once again.
While Hudson's emotion was front and center, drama unfolded behind the scenes when police said just 90 minutes before the show began that they were investigating the 19-year old Brown. His performance was subsequently removed from the show, though it was unclear if he bowed out or was dropped.
All eyes were on a very pregnant M.I.A. who was due to go into labor and have her baby on stage. The Malaysian rapper joined the rap pack Kanye West, T.I., Jay-Z and Lil Wayne on stage for a live performance of their hit "Swagger Like Us". Rihanna and Chris Brown dropped out and canceled their performances as rumors circulated that Chris Brown was arrested for assaulting Rihanna. Congrats to all of the winners!

We are sad to report that today is the second anniversary of the killing of Sean Bell. A vigil was held on the spot where Sean Bell was killed at 4 am in Jamaica Queens on his wedding day. Binside TV spoke to Sean Bell's beautiful widow Nicole Paultre Bell at the Black Girls Rock! Awards when she was given an award for her courage. About 100 people gathered before dawn Tuesday for a candlelight vigil and prayer service on the second anniversary of the fatal police shooting of an unarmed man on his wedding day that sparked outrage in the black community.
The Rev. Al Sharpton and Sean Bell's fiancee, Nicole Paultre Bell, led the memorial on the street in Queens where the 23-year-old black man was killed outside a strip club on Nov. 25, 2006 after leaving his bachelor's party.
At precisely 4:10 a.m. -- the time of the shooting -- the mourners rang a large bell 50 times to mark the number of bullets fired at the Bell and two of his friends, who were seriously injured.
After laying wreaths and flowers, the group marched half a mile to a church, where Sharpton held a prayer service.
"The idea is to commemorate the second anniversary and to continue to push for a federal case," Sharpton said later.
At a non-jury trial in April, a judge acquitted three police officers of state charges that included manslaughter, assault and reckless endangerment.
The officers -- undercover detectives investigating reports of prostitution at the club -- said they opened fire because they thought one of the men was reaching for a gun. No weapon was found.
The shooting and subsequent acquittals of the officers ignited protests and raised questions about whether the NYPD was too quick to use excessive force against minorities.
Last week, Bell's family and their lawyers met privately with federal prosecutors to discuss a possible civil rights case against the shooters.
"They've assured them they were doing a full investigation," Sharpton said Tuesday. "We don't know what the outcome will be but ... the family is still demanding justice in this matter." U.S. Attorney Benton Campbell has refused to comment on the private meeting.
"Sean Bell's civil rights were violated -- the right to go home unarmed and not be killed by police," Sharpton said. source
