Singer CARRIE UNDERWOOD has accepted an invitation to join country music mecca the Grand Ole Opry.
The 25-year-old was asked to become a member of the Nashville, Tennessee country institution by Opry member Randy Travis on Saturday (15Mar08).
Underwood had just finished performing his song I Told You So onstage at the Grand Ole Opry when Travis made his offer.
The 2005 American Idol winner said backstage, "I feel like I just won something all over again."
Underwood, who has scored six consecutive number ones on the U.S. country singles chart, will be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on 10 May (08).

Meeting place for mothers – play area for babies and toddlers.
Main Activities
• Provides a safe environment for children to play.
• Meets twice per week for coffee and biscuits.
• Organises fund-raisers, summer outings and parties (eg. Christmas and Hallowe’en).
Meeting Place: St. Ronan’s Youth & Community Centre
Meeting Times: Monday and Thursday – 9.45-11.00am
How to join: Just come along
Important dates: Vary from year to year.
Senior Citizens Club
Main Activities: Monthly meetings with guest speakers / entertainers. Occasional outings
Meeting Place: Vale of Leithen Social Club
Meeting Times: Last Wednesday of each month, 2.00-4.00pm
How to join: Contact one of the above. Memberships are collected September to October.

I'm looking to meet some Local Musicians who are interested in New Country Music and would like to get together for a jam and make some noise.
Not looking for anything special just a few people who want to get together and pass the time or who maybe want to look at putting a country band together.
