Britney Spears gyrated and lipsynched her way through her Circus comeback tour which kicked off last night in New Orleans. We're glad to see that Britney is looking good and seems to be doing better. Click here for more pics from Britney Spears' comeback.
The pop princess has had a rough time in her personal life over the years including a public mental breakdown and custody battle over her kids.
What do you think about BritBrit's big comeback?
First Look at Britney Spears' Circus Tour Rehearsals Video
Britney Spears kicked off her first tour in five years on Tuesday, promoting her latest hit album "Circus" before an adoring hometown audience with jugglers, acrobats, rings of flame and lip syncing.
"Britney's my girl. I knew she'd be great," said Chris Peterson, 28, who drove to New Orleans from Pensacola, Florida, for the concert. "I've been a fan since I was 14."
The pop star, attempting a comeback after a high-profile meltdown, pulled out all the stops before a sell-out crowd of 16,400 to launch her much-anticipated world tour.
Spears, 27, became a worldwide phenomenon when she burst onto the music scene 10 years ago after breaking into show business on the "Mickey Mouse Club" television show.
But she has done only a handful of live concerts in recent years as her personal life careered out of control, including stints in psychiatric care, an ugly divorce, losing custody of her two sons, shaving her head and partying without panties.
Back on stage, Spears looked fit and dazzling dressed as a ringmaster as she performed more than a dozen songs in a parade of skimpy costumes.
The launch of her 44-concert tour, which heads to Britain in June, was heavy on spectacle and was met with wild applause and cheers.
The circus-themed production featured Spears strutting and gyrating through extravagant sets on three stages, surrounded by dancers, martial artists and performers who dropped from the rafters on fabric streamers and mechanical rings. source

LATEST: SEAN PENN played the Pied Piper of activism at the Coachella Festival on Monday (28Apr08) when he set off on a protest trip to New Orleans, Louisiana with buses loaded with event revellers.
The actor/director took the stage at the festival on Sunday (27Apr08) to recruit activists for his Dirty Hands Caravan venture. He called on Coachella festival-goers to "take action" and join him on a cross-country bio-diesel bus caravan.
The trip began on Monday morning. Speaking just before My Morning Jacket's set on the main stage at Coachella,
Penn told music fans, "This is about volunteerism. Revolution is a young man's job and you can be the revolution." He revealed that singer/songwriter Ben Harper and rockers Everlast would be joining him for the trip to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
The volunteers will help build houses for the homeless, while protesting the Iraq war with Penn.
Penn was hoping to recruit 300 Coachella revellers to join him on the bus tour to New Orleans and back to Los Angeles.

JOHN LENNON's ex-girlfriend MAY PANG came within days of reuniting THE BEATLES during her 18-month relationship with the star.
May Pang dated Lennon during his "lost weekend" in 1974 and 1975, after working as his assistant for three years. They came together after Yoko Ono encouraged them to date because her marriage to the rocker was faltering.
Pang claims it was her objective during their romance to reunite Lennon with his estranged writing partner Paul McCartney - and bring the Fab Four back together.
And she insists she came close - Lennon was making plans to join McCartney in New Orleans when he suddenly returned to Yoko Ono.
Pang says, "It was my goal at the end to get them back together. That's what I wanted. We talked about reuniting the Beatles. At one point he wanted to do it. For the hell of it. Because there wasn't any pressure, any contracts. He'd say, 'That'd be fun.'
"Enough time had passed and he was enjoying himself performing with other musicians. It was fun again. John said to me one day, 'What do you think if I start to write with Paul again?' I said, 'Are you kidding? that would be great.' He asked me why? And I told him, 'Solo-wise, you're good. Together there's something so magical you can't beat.'
"They were talking about it originally for 1974, but everybody was busy. Then they talked about adding other musicians. Harry Nilsson wanted to be part of it, other people wanted to be part of it."
Pang claims any hope the Beatles had of reuniting died the day Lennon suddenly returned to live with Yoko Ono at New York's Dakota Building. She says, "Yoko called him up one day. She had this method she had to help him quit smoking. He said, 'I'll be gone for a couple of hours. I'll be back, we'll go for dinner and talk about going to New Orleans.'"
Lennon never came back and the Beatles plans died.
But Pang insists he was serious about bringing back the Beatles: "He was really thinking about it. It was so fantastic."
Pang, 57, is currently promoting a book of rare Lennon photographs, Instamatic Karma.

Brad and Angelina are still putting their energy -- and money -- into rebuilding New Orleans.
The star couple has vowed to match up to $5 million in donations for helping the disastrous 9th Ward in the destroyed city, with Brad confessing that he's even put his career "on hold" to do all he can to help the community recover from Hurricane Katrina. "This is my project," he says.
He and Angelina have turned a Creole mansion in the French Quarter their home for the interim. "I believe in what's going on down here.
Way to go, Brangelina!

Larry King interviewed (airs tonight on CNN) Brad Pitt about his work
down in New Orleans and he just had to talk about the whole
Aniston/Angelina thing. Larry said "when you're getting emotionally
involved with someone you're working with..." and Brad quickly cut him
off and said, "Well, that came after Larry. That came after." Uh huh.

If only other rich celebrities could follow in his footsteps.
Brad Pitt is donating $5 million of his own money to help fund the restoration of homes destroyed in the Lower 9th Ward area, focussing on using solar and wind energy for future housing to cut utility costs up to 2/3.
"This is an adopt-a-house campaign," Brad announced. "I'm asking for foundations, for high net-worth individuals, for church groups, for corporations to come in to adopt a home. Basically, $150,000 will get a family back in their home."
Brad is hoping his Make It Right foundation can not only help rebuild, but do so in an environmentally-conscious way that doesn't further pollute the troubled region. If you'd like to help, check out their website.

I'm sitting in the Lost Souls cafe in downtown Los Angeles.....I'm sorry, I'm T, the creater and co-director/writer/producer of the web series REFUGEES. My partner C.L and I decided about a year ago to the date to shoot a web based series based on hurricane Katrina. C.L. was living in New Orleans at the time of the storm and left the day before. I was in L.A. anxiously following on the news. Never have I felt so helpless. The day before I went to a Mos Def concert at the Hollywood Bowl, but I was distracted by the events about to unfold. Shortly after the hurricane C.L. moved to California, Lancaster that is, to start anew with his wife and two daughters. My son lived with his mother across the street from where a barge smashed through the levee sending almost 18 feet of water into the lower 9th ward, a working class predominately African American community. Most of the people owned thier homes and haved lived there for most of thier lives. In N.O. most people stay in the same hood for pretty much most of thier lives. That's why the communites are like one big family. It's also why they have a lot of violence. Sometimes familiarity breeds contempt. It's hot, a poor educational system, racism, intra-racism, crack cocaine, herione, apathy and lack of opportunities are the recipe for drama. New Orleans is unlike most major cities with crime problems in that thier are no gangs in N.O. You might have small cliques of "soldiers" as they call themselves, but for the most part, the west and east coast gangs were never able to infiltrate the city. Instead you have a renegade every man for himself mentality that fuels the gun violence. The majority of murder victims knew thier assailant. I just spent two weeks in Angola prison working on a film. It was depressing. A guard told me that about 60% of the men were there for 2nd degree murder, crimes of passion, someone drunk fighting at a bar, and if they would be freed, he doubt he'd see them again. There are people who belong there don't get me wrong, but some of our best resources are dead or locked up. C.L and I are trying to make a difference through our films to tell what's really going on in The Big Easy and to create opportunities for those that have few options. This project is much more than an attempt to break into the VIP section of Hollywood ie the movie business. Our very survival depends on it. If we don't tell our story unfiltered, who will? We will update you as we embark on this journey to make compelling, entertaining educational films and screenplays. Wish us luck, we're gonna need it.
