Twenty-two year old rapper Bow Wow says he has had enough of the rap game and is retiring from the industry after 7 albums. Not everyone is convinced about the faux retirement publicity announcement. Do Jay-z and 50 Cent's promise to retire ring a bell? Bow wow says that he wants to focus on his acting career.
Bow Wow's album New Jack City 2 debuted to lackluster record sales.
Binside TV caught up with Bow Wow last season during NY Fashion Week. The hip hop superstar gave his runway reviews of Russell Simmons Argyle Culture Fashion show and Betsy Johnson. Bow Wow has announced that he is retiring from the music industry.
The rapper, real name Shad Gregory Moss, admitted that he has achieved everything he wants with his recording career and now plans to focus on acting.
"This is my last album because for me, there's no more that needs to be done on the music side, I've done everything," Contactmusic quotes him as saying.
"And the scary thing is I'm 22 years old and I'm young. I'm still a baby, so it's kinda like on the music side, I've been doing it since five. That's 17 years of non-stop music, music, music. There's nothing more to accomplish that I haven't seen yet."
The star rose to fame with his debut Beware Of The Dog in 2000 and has since released six albums.
Bow Wow will appear alongside Forest Whitaker and Taraji P. Henson in basketball drama Hurricane Season, released later this year. [DIGITAL SPY]

R&B singer Keri Hilson released a remix of her hit song "Turning Me On." The songstress seems to be taking jabs at Beyonce and Ciara in the song telling Beyonce to have some babies for her hubby Jay-Z.
Keri Hilson is trying to do damage control and says that she wasn't going at Bey and Cici but the "Move it to the Left" part of the lyrics are a big clue that this is aimed at Beyonce. Check out the diss lyrics and download the Turn My Swag on Remix mp3.
Do you think the diss record was taken too seriously? Keri Hilson even called into V103 radio while Ciara was on the air to address the rumors. The Decatur, Georgia native boasts that her album is "a true reflection" of her diversity. This singer/songwriter has proven that she can take center stage and excel. The smash hit "Turnin Me On" featuring Lil Wayne has been on top of the Urban Radio Charts for more than 6 weeks. Hilson's third single, "Knock You Down," which features Kanye West and Ne-Yo, is already tracking to be a successful hit as it was the number one most added song at Urban Radio.
