P.S. Here is what others are saying about Las Gaviotas...
“What a comfortable place!”
My sister and I loved our stay at Las Gaviotas, and hope to return in the fall. The units are huge, with a fresh breeze blowing through. The units were well equipped and very pleasant. The staff was wonderful, and we loved that this was not a big fancy gringo resort. If you want to feel like Vegas in Mexico,...
“Always Above Expectations”
I have now stayed at Las Gaviotas 4 times. My husband and I go down with friends and rent either a 3 or 4 bed house. Everytime it has been with a different owner and every time it has been perfect. We usually do a costco shop, fill a cooler with veggies, fruit, meat and buy beer/etc at the shop...
“A nice change”
This may not be the vacation for you if you want to be pampered at pool side, have room service and experience all of the amenities a large resort has to offer. Las Gaviotas has it's own niche, completely unlike other resorts. The resort is small and there is no restaurant on location. However, the locals are friendly, there are...
“Great urban vacation”
Great casual resort for an urban vacation. One block up from the busy Mercado - the primary promenade around the bay. Easy walking access to a variety of restaurants and bars and shops. Room came with all the basics needed for a relaxing week, including a full-size fridge, affordable water for drinking and making ice cubes, and a nice pool... more
“This is a timeshare?? Great little place”
This little timeshare property in laid back La Paz is a real sleeper. The complex is not new, nor glitzy, but the place is immaculately cared for and the people could not be nicer. 16 units only, we got to it through an exchange with RCI, and spent a week there. Large unit, great king bed, plus other sleeping for...
“Loved, loved, loved Las Gaviotas”
What a pleasant surprise! Las Gaviotas is great. The staff is exceptional. I can't think of a single complaint. Everything was perfect. We loved La Paz as well. In fact, we're going back to Las Gaviotas this spring.
“Under advertized gem!!”
Couldn't find much about this resort but went ahead with a RCI exchange there. What a wonderful surprise if you are into wanting a bit of old Mexico charm as well as modern conveniences and hospitality.
“Excellent Experience at Las Gaviotas”
We had a truly great time staying at Las Gaviotas in LaPaz. The staff could not have been more helpful, especially Alejandro. The space was commodious and well maintained. We were on the third floor and our balcony looked out on the Malicon and the bay. . . a great view. Our rental car was very secure in the parking...
“We loved Las Gaviotas & La Paz!”
We just returned from La Paz (our first time to the Southern tip of Baja), and completely enjoyed the time we spent in this non-tourist city. The trips to the beaches, fishing (Dorado rules!) and snorkeling trip were all the adventure we could have asked for. The hotel was a welcome comfort after some full days of fun in the...nbsp;

Luxury Beach Vacations. The very words seem to mystify most people. A beach vacation is easily understood as vacationing on or near a beach. The accommodations can be a hotel, condo, motel or even a timeshare. We all have seen those beach motels situated on prime beachfront property! Even staying at a friend's or relative's house near the beach can be considered a "beach vacation"! But add "luxury" to the same sentence, and most people will think of expensive resorts situated on faraway, exotic beaches with extra services and amenities. All-inclusive resorts, perhaps, that cater to honeymooning couples or families that have activities scheduled out for them! Luxury does imply convenience and extra activites that a regular beach vacation may not include. Some examples are golfing, massages, parasailing, and even gambling! And then there is the beach itself. Some beaches are soft, white and powdery. Some are soft and pink. There are even black beaches. However, most are brown grains of sand for those of us who do not live in a tropical paradise! Now complement all of that with the color of the ocean (blue, green, turquoise or all of them!) and the very words "luxury beach vacation" starts its magic on you!
Enter Global Resorts Network. This company has been around for 22 years and is the best kep secret to smart travel! Savvy travelers are jumping aboard this luxury membership to gain access to 4 & 5 star resorts at a lifetime weekly rate of $298-$799! This includes LUXURY BEACH VACATIONS! TOMMY LEE JONES has slammed the U.S Government for building a huge fence along the border between Mexico and his home state of Texas - dubbing it "paranoid bulls**t".
U.S. homeland security has given the go ahead to create a barrier along 375 kilometres (233 miles) of the U.S./Mexico border, to stop illegal immigrants from crossing into America.
But Jones, who lives in San Antonio, a few hundred miles from the border, claims the plan "bears all the credibility and seriousness of flying saucers from Mars or leprechauns. Or any manner of malicious, paranoid superstition. In other words, it's bulls**t".
He adds, "It's a complete disaster. It's an act of fascist madness."

A Mexican judge has ruled U.S. TV star DUANE 'DOG' CHAPMAN cannot be extradited to Mexico to face kidnapping charges - ending a lengthy legal battle.
The star of reality show Dog The Bounty Hunter travelled to Mexico to capture serial rapist Andrew Luster - the heir to the Max Factor cosmetics empire - in June 2003.
But Chapman, his son and another cohort found themselves on the wrong side of the law when Mexican authorities in Puerto Vallarta learned of plans to track and capture Luster.
Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico.
After a brief spell behind bars, Chapman and his team were allowed to return to the United States but Mexican prosecutors have been fighting to extradite Chapman on kidnapping charges ever since.
A U.S. judge dismissed the move in November (07), and, on Tuesday (29Jan08), a Mexican judge agreed. Chapman tells website TMZ.com, "Thank God this nightmare is over."
