For the past six months, the Bands.tv Team has been working diligently in gathering your requirements, analyzing the market, identifying gaps in current solutions, and developing the right specifications to build a music service we feel you have been looking for.
Many sites today come short of providing all of the necessary resources and
services to truly connect bands to fans/promoters/venues and in our opinion,
this gap is unacceptable. At Bands.tv
we look to build a music community to share ideas, feedback, and information
with the bands they like or don't like. This feedback is critical to
bands as they grow and look for new inspiration to grow their following.
At the same time, we know fans are looking for exciting new online content,
rich event calendars, and an ability to watch live performances. As we
continue to build Bands.tv you will have the ability to do all of those

Our long overdue development is nearing an end as we prepare for our BETA release of Bands.tv platform. Bands.tv (a DidYaKnow LLC Company) will be a Web 2.0 platform for independent bands, artists, and DJ to promote their music to Fans, Promoters, and Venues. Our services are designed to make promoting your bands easier while helping the music community find good independent musicians.
We are currently targeting a BETA release for Early March of 2008. If you are an independent band and want FREE tools to help you promote your music, pre-register at Bands.tv to begin building your profile and learning about our services.

Band & User Profiles:
With every registered account, Bands.tv creates a Band or User profile page to help you build your own communities. On Band Profile pages, Fans, Promoters, and Venues can learn more about the Band, the number of members, their home town, upcoming concerts, online videos, and other band specific sites like MySpace and Youtube sites. The same goes for Fans, Promoters, and Venues...they have the capabilities to tag artists they like, add friends to their friends list, and see their most recent posts.
Profiles give everyone a quick snapshot of who someone is, what they like, what they don't like, and other interesting information about themselves.

Trying to find is good Music Event Calendar is hard to come by. That is why at Bands.tv, we plan on cataloging all of our Musician's upcoming shows whether they are online or at a venue so fans can watch. As we build our online event calendar, our mission is to share it with the world...that is right, we are working on an open-source api to query our event calendar so it can be integrated on any platform for FREE. We don't believe in charging others to subscribe to event calendars like many other sites. The bigger the event calendar the bigger the reason to keep it open-source...Stay Tuned to our development of the first online FREE event music calendar.
Newsletters:
Ever try to create a music/concert newsletter for your fans or friends? Have any issues trying to do all of the necessary research, writing, formating and then email? Look no further, at Bands.tv we are working on a set of rich tools to allow Bands and Fans to create their own newsletter to share with their Friends.
Whether you are an independent musician or a music lover, we are working on tools that let you search your upcoming events, add them to a newsletter, add additionally comments, and send them to all of your trusted friends. Friends of Fans or Bands can then subscribe to your newsletter and be in the KNOW.
We understand how hard it to keep a good newsletter going (it is one of the primary reasons why we started Bands.tv), so we are creating the tools for your to use to make it simple.
